Executive summary
Executive summary
FinancieelSlim helps Dutch families build wealth and financial security — without selling products. Independent, principle-driven, and growing fast on social media. One problem: their website was a DIY Hostinger page with zero SEO, no tools, and no way to book or pay. I built the entire platform in one month. Next.js 16, 4 custom financial calculators (WTP 2026-compliant pension planner included), Mollie payments for 7 services, Cal.com booking, Resend email automation, and a full content hub running on embedded Sanity Studio. Result: 2,000% organic SEO growth.
FinancieelSlim
About the client: FinancieelSlim
FinancieelSlim is an independent financial education practice based in Hoogeveen, Netherlands. With over 10 years of experience in the financial sector and 200+ households helped, the practice provides knowledge-based financial planning without selling financial products — fully independent from banks and insurers.
The company's positioning — objectivity, transparency, and 100% independence — sets it apart in a Dutch market dominated by commission-driven advisors. Services range from structured wealth-building plans (GroeiPlan) and income protection analysis (ZekerheidsPlan), to sustainable housing financing analysis (Groener Wonen) and bespoke QuickScan consultations.
The challenge
The challenge
FinancieelSlim had a growing social media following but nothing backing it up online. The existing site — built on Hostinger's site builder — had zero SEO, no interactive tools, and no way to turn visitors into paying clients.
The brief: build a platform that matches the brand's values — objectivity, transparency, independence. Demonstrate expertise through free tools, educate through structured content, and convert trust into bookings and paid services. One month. ~€2K budget.
Key issues
- Self-built Hostinger site with near-zero SEO authority
- No interactive tools to demonstrate financial expertise
- No automated booking or payment system for consultation services
- Content scattered across social platforms with no central hub
- Need for complex Dutch-law calculators (WTP 2026 pension, Box 3 tax)
Business impact
Without a professional platform, FinancieelSlim could not convert their growing social media following into paying consultation clients. The absence of financial tools undermined credibility, and the lack of a booking/payment system forced all transactions through manual communication.
Constraints
- // One-month delivery timeline
- // Solo founder — required full post-launch independence
- // Budget of ~€2,000
- // High accuracy requirements for Dutch pension and tax calculators
Previous attempts
The client had built their own website using Hostinger's site builder — adequate for a placeholder presence but lacking the SEO structure, conversion design, and technical tools needed to compete professionally in the Dutch financial education space.

The approach
The approach
Four phases, one month. I moved fast.
Brand identity first. I built the visual system, tone-of-voice, and positioning for a financial educator who sells knowledge — not products. Everything had to communicate trustworthiness, clarity, and independence.
Architecture and CMS. Next.js 16 with Turbopack, Partial Pre-rendering, and an embedded Sanity Studio — full content control without needing me after launch. All 30+ schema types built for non-technical editing.
Custom financial calculators. Four tools built to Dutch regulatory standards: WTP 2026-compliant pension planner (87+ automated unit tests), Box 3 investment tax calculator, first-home savings planner, and compound interest wealth builder — all with PDF export.
Commerce and communication stack. Mollie handles 7 service payment flows (one-time and split), Cal.com runs consultation booking, Resend powers email sequences and lead magnets, and Upstash Redis keeps the API rate-limited. The educational content hub — articles, glossary, and structured learning pathways — was seeded and built for growth.

Launched on budget and on time — 87+ unit tests validating every financial calculation. Within the first month: 2,000% organic SEO growth, driven by structured data, GEO-oriented content strategy, and a technically solid Next.js architecture with strong Core Web Vitals.
The calculators are now the main trust builder — prospective clients get a free, hands-on demo of the advisor's expertise before booking anything. And with the embedded Sanity Studio, the client publishes articles, updates pricing, and manages the entire content hub without needing a developer.
